Welcome to Co-Counselling! This course will teach you the fundamentals of peer-peer Co-Counselling through online calls, video and live demonstrations, and home practice sessions. In total this will be around 40 hours (including calls and home practice) - this is a set agreed practice time to ensure you are confidently ready to enter into the Co-Counselling community.

Co-Counselling is a peer-peer listening arrangement/partnership where people take turns to be client or counsellor (both will take a turn of each). They can speak without judgement about any topic they wish. Techniques, which both people have learned through courses like this, can be optionally offered, but no other advice or intervention is allowed. Following a standard 40 hours training course, sessions are freely arranged between other trained Co-Counsellors and no money is exchanged.

In this course, I will take you through the principles and techniques used in Co-Counselling in an easy to understand format, and will take into account different learning styles and additional needs so everyone gets the most out of our time together.

Since I discovered Co-Counselling back in 2019, I have experienced the profound changes and clarity that comes with practising Co-Counselling - having time each week to look inwards and examine my life without undue financial strain, having someone else listen without judgement, using the simple Co-Counselling techniques to examine further, and to be of service in providing a listening space for another.

Co-Counselling reinforces that I have all the answers I need (Co-Counselling is not a form of advice), and one of the huge pros for me was that, following your 40 hour training course, peer sessions are totally free.

If this sounds like it might suit you, please complete the Expression of Interest form and I will be in touch. If you have trouble with forms drop me a text on (+44)7763141856 and we can go through it together. The majority of questions are yes/no.

Course timings note: course times are UK based so BST and GMT (the latter from Tuesday 29th October)

Money matters
Costs of attending:

I want the course to be accessible to anyone who wants to take it.

The deposit for the course is £40, payable by BACS. If this is not something you can pay right now, please reach out and we can chat.

Pay What You Want
Beyond the deposit, I am choosing to trial this course on a Pay What You Want model. This model is centred around trust and the value you think you'll find in the course and your financial means. Installment plans can be set up if you’d prefer to split up whatever you decide to pay. You are also welcome to review what you choose to pay further into the course, once you have experienced its value to you personally.

10% of payments will go directly to www.blackmindsmatteruk.com, a charity supporting free, one to one, culturally relevant therapy for Black people in the UK.

Taught / class time constitutes ~30 hours

Costs of other courses as examples:

  • Group counselling - fee around £400 - £840 per person respectively for 30 hours (NB Co-Counselling is not therapy, this is just a comparison number)
  • Self-help course - ~£487 for 30 hour equivalent
  • Tutor - between £180 - £600 respectively for 30 hours
  • Other Co-Counselling teachers offer courses ranging from between £75 (£2.50 per taught hour) - £450+ (£15+ per taught hour) per course, and some are also entirely free

If you’re not sure, please reach out and we can organise a chat. The last thing I want is for this payment model to put you off attending.

Payment arrangements

Payments can be made either through BACS or PayPal. If you want to use another platform, please just ask.
