Co-Counsellors living in Scotland are delighted to offer McCoCo 2010 residential workshop. We are offering this exciting, international, challenging, supportive, fun space from Thursday evening 29 April to Monday 3 May. This will be the twelfth! McCoCo residential workshop. The Monday is a Bank Holiday for everyone in the UK. We have booked a wonderful venue 25 miles from Edinburgh called Wiston Lodge. It is a magnificent 19th century Lodge house, set in its own extensive wooded grounds. There are several spaces suitable for different kinds of workshops including a sports hall for dancing and a big room for the opening circle. For more pictures of the venue, click here. |
WORKSHOPS
NEW! This year we have invited people to offer workshops in advance. This resulted in a very exciting and well=prepared offerings and inspired even more spontaeus offered workshops! Registered co-counsellors can click HERE to see which exciting workshops have been offered beforehand in 2010. For McCoCo 2011 we will organise this again.
The actual workshop program is open and will also be created by McCoCo's participants at the spot. Anyone can offer a co-counselling workshop or ask for a topic group, massage, meditation and indeed anything what makes your and other people's heart sing. As well as participating in workshops and support groups or simply having co-counselling sessions you can choose to enjoy dancing, chatting with people from overseas in front of a log fire, walking in the lovely grounds or in the nearby Tinto hills etc.

Scotland too far away or McCoCo difficult to travel to...?

CCI Teachers Workshop
Updated 20 May 2010
Dymphna has found and booked a beautiful venue for the teachers Workshop that will cost us 80 Euro from Thursday eve to Saturday morning - full board.
There is morning Tai Chi for those who want for another 5 Euro. Cost is dependent on 20 people booking .
Payment for the Teachers Workshop is to Dymphna at the start of the teachers event in cash. To book for the teachers workshop mark that you wish to attend on your booking form and send your deposit to Dymphna or Declan for CCI in advance.
If we go over 20 there is extra accommodation at Dymphna's house near by.
The venue is a self contained house, Tara House, in the grounds of a Buddhist Centre http://www.jampaling.org/tara_house.html
We are looking into joint options to travel to the Teachers venue, which is some distance from Dublin, and then on to CCi.

12 May 2010: Dymphna, writes:
I am delighted to say that I have managed to change the venue for the Teachers' Workshop to the Buddhist Centre in Bawnboy Co. Cavan. It is about 5 km from my home in Bawnboy, and it is a place I know well and like. The Buddhist name is Jampa Ling. We can stay not in the main block, but in a guesthouse beside it. The accommodation consists of two dormitories of 8 beds and some smaller rooms. We will be able to rent that whole guest block for ourselves.
It is a place I go to for Tai Chi classes, and I know the people, so I think that will help. One of the Buddhists who looks after the Walled Garden is Aisling Blackburn, and she will prepare vegetarian meals for us. I have said we will arrive on the evening of Thursday 22 July, and we would like an evening meal on Thursday, all meals on Friday, and breakfast on Saturday. I have not a price for the food yet, but I think the price for everything will be around 70 euros.
I was wondering if the group would like an hour of Tai Chi on the morning of Friday? The person who teaces it, Romy Grey, is really very experienced, and it could give us a creative start to the day.
I hope to get a quotation for a coach for 20 people from a local bus group, Martin's Coaches, to collect everyone from the airport and bring them straight to Jampa Ling. Then to bring us on Saturday straight to Drogheda and Termonfeckin.
It is possible to come by public bus from the airport to Bawnboy. It is bus number 130, and one leaves at 17.20 from the airport. It osts 18 euros however, so I would hope to do better than that. I can then ferry you the 3 km to Jampa Ling. It is also possible to get a train to Dromod on the Sligo line, but that is a 45 minute drive from Bawnboy. (There is a really difficulot optio, to get a train to Longford, then an Ulsterbus to Ballinalore, and then we can ferry you, it is about 10 km from Bawnboy.
The good news for those over 65 is that the Irish Tourist Board is desperate for tourists, and has given free travel on ALL TRAINS and the DART (Dublin train service) to anyone from anywhere in the world . The offer is called Golden Trekker and it is on the website www.discoverireland.com They would prefer if you apply in the country of your origin, then you have it before you come, and it does no hold up the person selling tickets. Paul Hyland who was at the recent McCoCo does some work for discover Ireland, and he will help if we have any problems.
All good wishes,
dymphna
I would suggest that we arrive on the evening of Thursday 22 July, and then we would have all of Friday and Saturday morning for a Teachers’ workshop.
CCI Annual European Gathering 2010 in Ireland
You are warmly invited to the 25th annual CCI European gathering: This is another “no frills” Irish CCI workshop. The event may be loosely described as CO-OPERATION, and we welcome all offers of help, both before and during the event.
The venue is Termonfeckin, near Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland, which some of you may already know. It is about fifty miles (eighty km) north of Dublin. We are delighted to be returning to this venue, having hosted the CCI European gatherings there in 1996, 2000 and 2005.
Website
All the information on this site, plus nice photos and lots more is available at www.cci2010.info
Not sure about booking?....
If you are attracted to this but are feeling rusty or out of touch with co-counselling we would encourage you to come anyway and experience the support, freedom and encouragement that this event has to offer. The only minimum skill you need to do co-counselling is to be able to
- give someone else your aware caring attention when it is someone else's turn to work on their distress,
- keep to the co-counselling ground rules, and
- decline to give an intervention (when you are counsellor) if you don't want to give it.
NB You have to be a CCI co-counsellor to come on this event.
The Venue
Termonfeckin, near Drogheda Ireland
The splendid house is called “An Grianan” or “a sunny place”, and is light, spacious and very comfortable. It is the centre of the ICA, the Irish Countrywoman’s’ Association, and it is now open as a Conference Centre. Their website www.ica.ie gives information about it. The centre has accommodation for 85 people.
An Grianan is located by the sea, and a short invigorating walk through the lovely grounds, through the golf course and over the dunes will bring you to the strand. The beach is really wonderful - very wide and long, stretching as far as you can see.
Cost
For bookings up to 30 April 2010, the cost will be 430 euros.
For bookings after 1 May 2010 the cost will be 450 euros.
For a single room there will be an extra charge of 60 euros.
A deposit of 100 euros will secure the place.

They would not give me the IBAN number as I am not a named signature on the account. If it is a problem I will get Declan to find it out.'
Bursaries
We will do our best to give a scholarship to those who might otherwise not be able to come.
Those who need a bursary/scholarship should contact the organisers as soon as possible.
Campers
Unfortunately it will not be possible to accommodate campers on the site.
Children
We appreciate that for some people it is important to be able to bring their children, and it worked very well in Germany last year. We would be happy to talk to co-counsellors who want to bring children, to see if we can work together to make it happen. We would rely heavily on parents helping with a programme of activities for these children..
CCI Autumn Workshop
Co-counselling beside the sea is happening again this Autumn on the beautiful and wild Suffolk coast. The house is warm, with cosy window seat views, lots of workshop space, a wonderful Hall for dancing, a good sitting space for chilling out, and the Snug for those late night chats! Dror International Workshop, Israel October 16-20, 2009
We welcome you to the Dror International Workshop, October 16-20, 2009 at Beit Oren – Home of the Pine Trees. Have a look at the venue.
We have enjoyed your hospitality in several countries: Scotland, Hungary, the United States, and The Netherlands and Germany – now we wish to host you in our country.
The theme for this 5 day workshop is "Relationships" – in Hebrew "yahasim" which relates to connections between partners – partners as a couple, partners in a family, partners at work, partners in a community, partners for peace.
Come and join us for this amazing opportunity to share, to celebrate, to grow, to challenge yourself in a safe, welcoming and caring environment.
Participants at this workshop are co-counselors who have completed at least 40 hours of training in co-counseling theory and practice, which complies with John Heron’s definition of co-counseling (1996). We acknowledge that there are differences in methods and practice among the various communities (Dror and within CCI). We celebrate these differences and aim to find a common ground where we can share and grow our communities toward the “advancement of sound theory, effective practice, network development and planetary transformation.” The organizing committee aims to ensure safety by designating individuals to serve as trust persons from CCI and Dror.
The venue is situated in the Carmel Reservation Park in the mountains surrounded by pine trees with a view to the Mediterranean Sea 430 meters below. Accommodation options include camping in tents on location, simple guest-house rooms, and hotel rooms.
General Guidelines:
At the venue, nudity is not allowed nor the use of alcohol or mind-altering substances. Smoking is allowed in designated areas.
Meals offered at this workshop are vegetarian (including dairy and eggs – fish for non-vegetarians), and not kosher. If there are special dietary requests, please provide details on the registration form. No meat dishes will be offered. Children are welcome at this workshop. Unfortunately the venue does not offer discounts based on the age of the participant, therefore children are charged as adults.
Housing and transportation:
We understand that co-counselors from abroad may be interested in arriving early to/or staying on after the workshop. Dror members have been asked to offer hosting options. Please indicate your requests with the dates on the form provided.
Payment will be collected by a designated member of your community in dollars or euros. The list of designated members will be provided by September 1st. The registration fee is quoted here in Israeli shekels. The current rate is 3.8 to the dollar, 5.4 to the euro. Please take into account slight adjustments in the price due to fluctuating exchange rates.
Suggested items to bring with you: warm clothing for cool evenings, umbrellas in case of rain (we pray for this constantly), musical instruments, timers, and most important of all, positive, loving energy!

The meeting is open to all co-counsellors who have completed a 40 hour course in the fundamentals of co-counselling and their children. At this meeting, co-counsellors from many countries meet for personal growth and to improve and intensify their co-counselling skills. Apart from co-counselling, there will be time for other workshops, personal experience and for pleasure. The motto for the week will be awareness ('aandacht' in Dutch, 'Achtsamkeit' in German).
